Background
Hafeni founded Hiveluah Consult in 2013. He was until 31st May 2020 the in-house Principal Consultant at Pioneer Minerals and Mining through Hiveluah Consult.
He provides mineral advisory services and in other earth science related disciplines like; engineering geology, water and environmental as well.
He was appointed as an External Technical Expert for Mining and Geology for the Namibia Standards Institute (NSI) since 1st April 2016. Role is to provide knowledge and technical support for audit in the mentioned areas and other certification activities which the NSI deems necessary.
Past and current ongoing involvement (i.e. as an professional individual or employee) in projects by Frontier Resources plc (USA)-soil gas sampling in Owambo Basin, JINDAL AFRICA (India) – iron ore, Mining geology services at Whale Rock Cement (PTY) Ltd- Otjiwarongo in the Cheetah cement quarry and production plant, Burrow pit and quarry resource assessments for Aris Stone Products cc and Palladium Civils (PTY) Ltd.
Other past and on going involvement include Epangelo Mining Company (PTY) Ltd (Namibia) – diverse portfolio and Sinoafrica (Mauritius/RSA)- Otjozondu manganese fields exploration and ML application submission to the Ministry of Mines and Energy on behalf of Sino-Africa Resources (PTY) Ltd in 2013, successful Mineral Licence management (in terms of renewals) for Forsys Metals (Pty) Ltd (Canada) on the Norasa Uranium Project in Namibia 2019, to name a few.
Career & Expertise
Hafeni started his career as a Regional mapping Geologist at the Geological Survey of Namibia (1996–2000).
From where he went on to acquire a tremendous amount of experience in base and precious metals exploration and production across the Matchless Belt and the Otavi Mountainland, working as Geologist and Senior Mine Geologist for Ongopolo Mining Ltd. (2000–2005) and Weatherly Mining Plc. (2011–2013) at Tschudi, Tsumeb, Tsumeb West, Kombat, Khusib Springs, Otjihase and Matchless mines.
This included a stint at the Navachab gold mine (AngloGold-Ashanti).
He also worked as Production Evaluator and Senior Production Geologist at Debmarine Namibia from 2005 to 2012, gaining knowledge on all marine mining methods like drill, crawler and dredging as well gaining an in depth understanding of the marine mining environment through more than 5 (five) JAGO dives up to depth of 120m. From middle 2016 till end 2018 he spend time as a geologist in the shallow water marine diamond concession areas of Namdeb on the Namibian West coast (Oranjemund up to Hottentots Bay) exploring and mining diamonds. I have also visited and have knowledge of the Skeleton Coast all the way up to Angra Fria and Engo Valley and associated geology.

In 2013 he co-founded a junior exploration Co (Frontline Mineral and Energy Resources cc) that acquired and carried out drilling and evaluation over 2 brown field Cu projects in the Matchless (EPL 4742) and Kalahari Cu (EPL 4688) Belts in partnership with INCOR GROUP (Ukraine). Other assets held and investigated were 5 (five) coal EPLs in the Aranos Basin.
His expertise thus covers a wide spectrum from Geological mapping and Exploration to Production and Resource Management in both open-cast and underground operations, as well as offshore diamond mining.
His passion lies with MRM and Auditing as well mineral licensing and administration.
He is competent in diamonds, base metals and industrial minerals.
